Libbey

The father of Toledo, Ohio’s glassware industry, Edward Drummond Libbey, was once an employee of the New England Glass Company, eventually becoming that company’s president from 1883 to 1886. In 1888, Libbey opened the Libbey Glass Co. in Toledo, Ohio. Owing much of his success to inventor and glassware innovator, Michael Joseph Owens, Libbey glass became the gold standard of elite, premium glassware and drinkware for generations to come.
